Who we are

GOEDTEST is a trade name of THYNX LLC, a Colorado limited liability company with its principal place of business in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. References to "we", "us", "our", or "GOEDTEST" in this policy mean THYNX LLC operating under the GOEDTEST brand.

You can contact us at any time about privacy questions at hello@goedtest.com.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the GOED Test and to communicate with you about it.

  • Email address — when you request a GOED Report or otherwise sign up.
  • First name — optional, used only to personalize emails.
  • Location data — the ZIP code, postal code, city, region, country, or geolocation coordinates you provide so we can generate your report. If you use "Use My Current Location" we receive approximate latitude and longitude from your browser.
  • Consent record — the date, time, IP address, user agent, the exact consent text shown to you, and the consent version. This is kept as legal evidence of your opt-in.
  • Submission metadata — the page you submitted from, your computed USDA growing zone or general climate profile, and the foods recommended in your report.

We do not collect government IDs, payment information for the GOED Test itself, precise location history, or browsing activity across other sites.

How we use your information

  • To generate and deliver your personalized GOED Report.
  • To send the occasional GOEDTEST update (new features, regional launches, planting reminders) — only if you opted in.
  • To improve the GOEDTEST food and climate databases (in aggregated, non-identifying form).
  • To respond to your questions, support requests, and legal requests.
  • To comply with applicable laws, including CAN-SPAM (US) and the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with advertisers.

Legal basis for processing (EU/EEA/UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar rules, we process your personal data on these legal bases:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for sending the GOED Report and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for keeping consent records as evidence, preventing abuse, and improving our service.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — for retaining records required by tax, accounting, or regulatory law.

Email communications

You will only receive emails from GOEDTEST after you have explicitly checked the consent box associated with that purpose. Every marketing email from us includes a clear unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails to that address; we may still send essential transactional messages (e.g., a one-time confirmation, account or legal notices) related to a specific action you took.

To stop all GOEDTEST emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@goedtest.com.

Data storage and security

Personal data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure inside the European Union and the United States. Data in transit is protected with TLS. Access to personal data is limited to authorized GOEDTEST personnel.

No system is perfectly secure. We work to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

  • Active subscribers — for as long as you are subscribed, plus a short grace period.
  • Unsubscribed addresses — retained on a suppression list so we do not email you again (required by CAN-SPAM).
  • Consent records — retained for at least 6 years after the consent ends, as evidence of lawful processing.
  • Aggregated location/food usage — retained indefinitely in non-identifying form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to or restrict our processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@goedtest.com. We will respond within 30 days.

US state privacy rights (CCPA / CPA and similar)

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information. GOEDTEST does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in those laws. To exercise these rights, email hello@goedtest.com.

Cookies and analytics

See our Cookie Policy for details on cookies and similar technologies.

Children's privacy

GOEDTEST is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date and "Version" at the top of this page will change. Material changes that affect how we use your personal data will be communicated by email to active subscribers.
